B24 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sauber Mercedes C9 at Phillip Island 2009. Is it true??

I stumbled across a thread yesterday stating the Merc C9 will be at the Phillip Island Historics in March 2009.
Can anyone confirm this?
No matter if its true or not, I will be there for the event but this will be the highlight if it is running.

I dont think anyone but Rob Sherrard/Wayne Park could confirm their plans, even the VHRR wont know until an entry is received, would be nice to see them back its been a shame the T70 and 962 hasnt been around. Very exciting if they come but we will have to wait a little longer...maybe some news will pop up at Historic Sandown. Veskanda vs C9 vs 962...YUMMM

I believe that is their intention. The car is being shipped to Oz v. soon. I think the aim is to do >1 race out there, maybe as many as 3.

I hope so as I am planning to be there to marshal as the first leg of a 3 week trip to include the Clipsal 500 and the GP.

After some problems in practice and the early stages of the 90 minute race at Donington Park this weekend it seemed to be going fine after its repair following the Silverstone Classic accident. The sight of the Mercedes, Silk Cut Jaguars and Porsche 962s through the chicane brought back the memories of a golden age.

It raced at Donington, and after a few teething problems it was awesome.

Thanks for the feedback on the Merc. I will be attending the event if its there or not as its the best event of the year. I will have a media pass, catching valuable footage of the event then making it available on youtube and DVD's as l did with the 2007 meeting.

cheers
