Poor old Davey, dammed if he did or didnt. Could have gone from First to third pretty quickly. Watching on TV we all thought he could of had a crack, but I thought the cold tyres could have been his undoing.

Wrapped with a P2 to be honest. Dammed if he did or didnt. He will always wonder I guess

My feeling was Reynolds would have lost the spot before his tyres allowed him to fight properly anyway. Was disappointing to see such a big gap left at T9 but he at least kept Tander behind.
Maybe next time he'll make it tougher, but finishing 2nd (and 2nd overall) is nothing to be upset about.

I think the bigger concern is the pace of SVG in race 1, and JW in race 2. JW had a 10 second lead at one point, to SVG!

Looks like things may be back to status quo with T8 dominating everything. DJRTP... lookings at the pace of Fabs, really aren't that fast at all and SM is going to have to overdrive the hell out of that thing this year just to get a win.

Agree, when you look at the Shell boys, same car as last year, over the break all they had to do was polish it, against T8 who had to build and homologate a brand new car, then try to work it out during practice. Shell went backwards from last year, and T8 had the brand new car smoking right out of the box. Shell guys resting on their laurels of last year a bit?? T8 are still the class of the field in every respect, and Adelaide just rammed the point home.

Hard when Fabian seemed to be missing all weekend, Scotty was the lone hand at the front.

They should have smashed Triple Eight in the championship last year.

The little errors here and there - particularly when it mattered most, the engine failure at Bathurst, Fabian's inconsistancy in qualifying, all let them down.

You can't stop developing and looking for speed in this game. Look at FPR/PRA/Tickford; off the pace at the start of the year, come good around mid-season, and then nowhere again after the enduros.

Fabs said the car was as close to Scotty's setup as it has ever been and he couldn't get it to work.
Are we starting to see the Volvo all over again.
A setup direction no one else can drive.

Is that why Phil was put on gardening leave?

Interesting.
I've not read that comment from Giz.
Can't really argue as he should know best but I would have thought Reynolds would have needed the rest of the lap at least to get his tyres working well enough to hold off an SVG charge.

That worked for Michael Schumacher, others called it undrivable. It's not a problem if the lead driver is a superstar.

Worked for Tander and Winterbottom too, until other drivers started negotiating contracts accordingly.
