If i recall Nannini also did a FIA GT season with Mercedes in 1997 and then when he retired Benetton gave him one last F1 test in the 1997 car as his farewell to the sport.

I'd love to know his reason. I've often pondered about it.

Nakano? His official website gives info upto 2007 http://www.c-shinji.com/profile/eng.html . He's been pretty busy, really.

Didn't he test a car, was very slow or found it physically too much (or both?) and was advised not to do it.

Here's some candidates for 'WATN?'

Tarso Marques
Paul Belmondo
Taki Inoue
Jean-Denis Deletraz
Vincenzo Sospiri
Giovanni Lavaggi
Jean-Marc Gounon

Ponder those.

Vincenzo Sospiri is a driver who was rappid and just never got the brakes. It's a bit like Luca Badoer I suppose. Like in 99 when TGF broke hi leg and instead of using Luca who was the offifial Ferrari test driver they brought in Mika Salo!

Ponder those.
Tarso Marques has been racing in Brazilian Stock Cars for years.

Belmondo raced in GT's and rally raids. I think he does some acting as his father is known for.

Deletraz has raced sportscars for years.

Sospiri has owned his own race teams for years now.

Gounon has been a "supersub" for sportscar teams as a driver.

Lavaggi also raced sportscars for years after F1.

bertrand gachot is currently working on his own energy drink, hype or something. One of our suppliers is his flavour supplier, comes across to Canada/US to work on it from time to time.
