Yeah, but in this day and age, to be brutally honest, who cares anymore?

And the ACO has conveniently forgotten that the last 4 test weekends were two weeks ahead of the race, last test day that was this far ahead of the event was '04.

I'm looking at going down for this too, does anyone know of any reasonable B&B's in Le Mans town, or perhaps one of the 'Formula 1' style cheap hotels ? I think it will be too cold for camping .

A few years back, two of us went for the test day and whilst it wasn't as hot as in June, we had good weather - certainly warm enough for camping, although it was only the first weekend in May.

However, I don't think the campsites will be open. We spent Saturday night on a piece of litter-strewn waste ground at the Karting circuit and Sunday night in a motorway rest area somewhere near Chartres! Both nights were under canvas.

Since there's less peripheral activity during the test weekend, it's easy to get away from the circuit promptly and you could find a hotel in, say, Alencon or somewhere else on the route home.

Thank you for that info, I have been looking using the Trip advisor and seem to have found a decent hotel in Le Mans, it wil be easier than lugging all the camping gear down to the circuit. I've just got to firm up plans for that weekend and then will go ahead and book.

It will be strange staying away from La Suze for the weekend, it doesn't open until 1st May I believe ?

I remember that during the last test week-ends, the circuit was opened for the scutineering, but you must have your ticket. Will it be the same this year? I can call the ACO to try to get the information.

Enceinte Générale (General Enclosure) ticket for the week or for the practices, for the Mulsanne – Arnage bends, and even the Pitwalk. Choose your means of access to the “24 Heures du Mans” Circuit in order to experience the competition to the full. Your ticket will also give you access to the Test Day on Sunday, 25th April 2011

Question is if you can get inside the Circuit on Saturday for Scrutineering .???

Just heard via Twitter there will be a maximum of 76 cars present on test day!!!!! Sounds like it's going to be a fun day if that many turn up!

I'd make that 76 to be what remains of the initial 56 + 10 which are announced next week, plus 10 FLM cars.
