2018 Schedule:
http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/20...dule-released/ Some dates got moved to within a week or two of where they are now, but only other major change is the predicted deletion of GTD from Long Beach. |

Make GTLM blue LED's.
Green can stay with GTD, red with P, use the other color for GTLM. Turn all of them yellow under FCY like they do in PWC. |

And why is the Am class--where money is often tight and based on how much the pro-am drivers are willing to spend--doing most of the races?
The big budget pro classes should if anything be doing more races. |

So i guess we'll discuss schedule here and not in the schedule thread. Just close that one already, so I don't get confused.

It was 80 last Christmas in North GA and since I like to dork out on the weather sometimes, here's this past May in Mansfield OH - little chilly, but downright pleasant outside the 5th, which was likely nasty, wet and 40s all day. https://www.wunderground.com/history...ic=&reqdb.wmo= But Mother Nature can be a B sometimes... |

ESM has signed/retained Pipo for 2018, makes them a serious contender for 2018.

And two more pieces falling into place, one of the full-season pairings at Penske will be JPM and Dane Cameron. https://twitter.com/Team_Penske/stat...28116033208321

Guess that means there's another spin at the DPi driver wheel of fortune in a Caddy. Was he a GM driver or just contracted to the team?

Considering he's driving a Turner BMW and Magnus Audi in PWC, I don't think he was a GM driver.

I don't think Pagenaud is in the running to be honest. I do expect to see another open wheel guy come over, but the 4th driver is up in the air. I wouldn't be surprised to see them grab a current/former lmp1 driver.

Just thought about this - Pags may not be able to race the Acura.
Penske runs GM engines in Indycar, against Honda engines. Don't know if GM would be too happy with him racing a Honda product in competition against GM product. |

I don't really see any connection between GM and Pagenaud other than that they happen to be engine supplier in Indycar. The more blaring conflict (or non-conflict) is Penske Chevy, Penske Acura, and seems no one has any problems with that.
I'd atleast expect Pagenaud to race the D24 as a third driver. |

Glad to see John Paul land in a P car again. Who's the weak link between DC and JPM?

What about Helio? Would he be lobbying for a role in sportscars with the Captain if his IndyCar career with him is over? He probably wants to stay in IndyCar, regardless, that's my guess.... |

Helio is going to pilot the second entry. As for who his co-driver will be, that is a complete mystery. There are a lot of good candidates out there.
Penske might let Power and Newgarden be the fourth drivers for Daytona. And Pagenaud could be the third driver in one of the cars, he has past experience in prototypes and can do the NAEC. And don't forget Penske's Supercar drivers. They want some endurance action as well. It's going to be very interesting to see who Penske picks. As for AXR, maybe Albuquerque will get a full time ride? |

Fassler and Rockenfeller have GM ties (on loan from VAG) and would be a good choice for Whelen to replace Cameron. Maybe give Robin Liddell and/or Matt Bell a shot.

Not going to be an issue. Ganassi ran Chevy IndyCar and NASCAR drivers in a Ford for crying out loud, and continues to run Honda drivers in a Ford. Montoya specifically will still do two IndyCar races next year and made a couple Ford NASCAR starts while a full time Chevy IndyCar driver.

Probably not full time. Both still have Audi Sport contracts for DTM (Rocky) and GT3 (Fassler), and I can't see Audi letting go of them outside of allowing them to run Corvettes or maybe Cadillacs in IMSA endurance races.
