Great lap by the Oreca Audi in the second practice session to top both the factory Zytek and Creation. That almost does not seem possible given the restrictions.

For McNish in an R8, almost anything is possible.

4th time for the Spyker! It's getting there it seems. Anybody know why Val Hillebrand was "dismissed" from the G-Force Courage?

*edit* And the RfH Dome back in it's gorgeous black/silver livery! Awesome.

Errrm,

You must have missed the last two laps, Shimoda got back into the Zytek and did a 1.35.9!

Hehee, he has never driven Nurburgring before, only expect his times to get quicker!

Actually, it was a 1:45.9, but quickest none the less. I was not aware that the session was still in progress. Hope it stays dry. That will make for a great race.

One of the real treats of this season has been seeing Shimoda really be the class of the field and grow into a serious championship contender. Also really a nice surprise to see him still in the works Zytek - he wasn't on the initial entry list for the Nurburgring and a couple of weeks ago Autosport was reporting we'd likely seen the last of him in the car for the season... Anyone know what was behind these murmurings?

Regretably I still think the title's going to be a struggle for the Zytek - Tom Chilton strikes me as still being a little bit too much of a BTCC driver to get a 675 car through a 1000km unscathed.

Agreed about Chilton.

I just had a look at last year's times. The best Audi in qualifying was the Veloqx car of McNish/Kaffer with a 1:46.779. And the Oreca Audi posts a 1:47.273 in practice this year. Considering the restrictions, that's a pretty decent time.

Creation had pole last year with a 1:46.681, but only posted a 1:48.354 so far in practice.

Pescarolo on the other hand qualified with a 1:48.373 last year and have posted a 1:47.050 in practice so far this year.

Were did you find that photo? Is it the same livery they used in 1 or 2 races a few years ago?

EDIT: I have found the photo.

the deal with Kruse: its chassis nr 12, the one that was run at le Mans by Epison for Juan Barazi (under the Intersport banner). Barazi now owns the car, and the other one is back at the Courage factory, because the Judd engine is too heavy for some reason, and the engine mounts keep on breaking. So thats why they are running this chassis. Word is that the team may run both cars for next year (the red and black one)
