Alonsomania should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bridgestone Super Cars

I believe this is GT racing, if not, feel free to move it to an approciate (sp?) section.

I heard this series existed, but I havent been able to track info down over the information. Perhaps anyone of you know more about it?

Thanks alot in advance!

Mark

Do you mean the IMSA Bridgestone Supercars series that ran from 1991 to 1995? Here are links to the results and some photos.

There was also a supercar series that the Jaguar XJR 15 was built for that was sponsored by Bridgestone in the early nineties.

My friend indeed told me the championship was raced in 1993, so that could be possible aswell.

Probably the best bet would be racing magazines from that era. I also remember a car and driver article on it and road and track used to cover it pretty well. I think what killed it was problems with the rules and cost. Speed World Challenge GT would be a similar series to what the supercar series was back in the day.

I remember the Brumos Porsches being dominant with Hurley Haywood and Hans Stuck that first 2 years. I also remember Doc Bundy in a Lotus Esprit, Peter Farrell in a RX-7 and David Donohue in a BMW M5.

The XJR15 series supported three GP in 1991 (Monaco,Silverstone and Spa).

Around about that time I was also racing in this Super Cars series.

I'm guessing Cheyne is right though
