Neither.

Teams can still produce their own chassis, and pin the new '18-spec Commodore Triple Eight-developed bodywork to it.

They're sticking with the V8 in 2018, from what's been reported.

Too much money down the toilet, to develop anything else.

Nissan extended through to the end of 2018, expect Altimas for both years. 2019 may end up in a platform and power source rethink if they stay in.

I worry about 'parity' in post race interviews if Nissan continue with the V8 and others move to turbocharged powerplants.

Reckon the Nissan might get some mid-corner understeer?

He doesn't own the IP to the chassis design. Supercars does.

The bare kit of tubes can come from Pace pre-cut... all the rest is likely to be, for Holden teams, an 888-designed & homologated part..

It is more than likely that prospective Holden teams in the Next Gen world will be encouraged to buy turn key cars from 888..

Having said that, they had better have an order placed soon for next year.. deposits paid & all that

I'm not buying any of these conspiracy theories.

People bought 888 FG and 888 COTF because they are the best mouse traps with the best support.

If it was your money would you buy a car from GRM, WP or PRA?

Maybe buy the 888 car and re-skin it as a Ford

I'm bias, so I'd be buying a GRM chassis. I think we've seen the potential of a GRM chassis over the years and what it can do in the right hands...

Meh you can be biased but I suspect Scotty Mac can on occasion make anything look good.

Robert Dahlgren and Alex Premat are not exactly **** drivers and look at their results!

Well look at Alex in the ENDUROs. His pace is with the front runners, in my opinion Alex is a highly underrated driver. Robert also showed good pace but he left too early I think. He'd be a good ENDURO runner too

Monsoir Premat was always going to be quick in the #33, alongside Mr McLaughlan, just as Mr Wall was.

Not really, if the co-driver wasn't quick them there was no way the lead driver was going to mask it.

Which GRM will deny til they are blue in the face..

Except the #33 and #34 (and #34 & #35 before them) were rarely as strong as each other on the same day...

I read an article on the New Commodore , where German(Opel) and GM(USA) have been working on building the new Commy to race in Aus from 2018, with assistant's from T888. Even Roland commented on this.

Now just to recollect, isn't this outside the realm of supercars.
IIRC Penske where refused permission to take the FGX to the states to fully test it, yet we have GM, Opel and T888 , utilizing all the resources of GM to build a car , yet any Ford team is restricted

I doubt that's the case at all.

Triple Eight won the rights to develop the aero, in conjunction with Holden (to ensure a Commodore-like appearance).

Apart from the engine (the proposed V6TT), who's responsibility that one is, I'm not sure, there's nothing else to do.

Besides engine and bodywork, the car is the same as what we have now.

GM is developing the engine in the US, I believe.

Whether that turns out any better than the various attempts (other than Volvo) to build a Supercar donk outside of Australia, we'll have to see!

Begs the question as to how much of Nismo Japan's input is being utilised in the Altimas?
