I hope, only comparable classes will be joined? (like Supercars with Division 1, Supermodified with Division 3)

Or does the BRC has a competitive equivalent alternative for division 1a or 2?

I know that the Supercars/Div1 will be joined as will Supermodifed and Div3, i would assume also that Div1a and Div 2 will also be joined together with the Super Mods and Div3, all 2wd cars together.

Or maybe they will keep separate if there are enough numbers, i know there are a couple of British Div1a cars looking to do the event!

And 1 Norwegian. 18 year old Andreas Bakkerud and his team will use the race to prepare for the ERC.

So with all the convo about events recently just though i would re-start the Lydden April 4th/5th thread as it is the next event on the RX calender.....

So who's going?
Who's competing?

Only 2 weeks to go now, and only a week until an entry list will be seen.

With the expected invasion from Belgian drivers, the Norwegian guy mentioned above and other Euro drivers we should all be in for a fantastic event.

PLUS the LIVE tv coverage it should attract a big entry and crowd.

Any news on the driver front, numbers of drivers expected in classes etc...Think we will break the 20 car mark in Division 1?

I don't know how much division 1 guys you count, but don't expect too high numbers from up here... we've got some top cars (coox, pauwels, de keersmaecker, van mechelen, kuypers), but i don't know if the other guys are already prepared for this season, and if they will do the lydden trip...

Division 1a will draw some numbers, i think between 10 and 15, and division 3 will be around 20, i guess, altough it is uncertain, if everyone will be crossing the channel...

Terrestrial TV for BRC!!

Just received this:

Awesome news:

The MSA British Rallycross Championship will have terrestrial British television coverage for the first time in more than two decades when Channel 4 shows the championship for the first time this year.

Channel four will provide regular terrestrial coverage of the BRC in 2010.
The addition of terrestrial coverage is part of an expanded television package for the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship which broke new ground with two live broadcasts on Motors TV last year and will continue to work with the satellite and cable channel in 2010. “This is a huge leap for us and British Rallycross. The live television coverage with Motors TV was a massive achievement for all involved and we are continuing this in 2010 but to have the additional exposure on Channel 4 moves us even closer to our sporting goal of making Rallycross one of the foremost championships in the UK,” said Amy Doran of championship promoter Lydden Hill Motorsport Club (LHMC).
Coverage of the championship will again be provided by Hayfisher Productions, “We are delighted to be working with the British Rallycross Championship again this year. Having brought live coverage of Rallycross to TV screens last season, the terrestrial deal with Channel 4 will help even more viewers to experience this fantastic sport,” said Hayfisher MD Richard Hay.
The Channel 4 deal is based on a plan to cover the eight-event championship in four programmes, the first of which is scheduled to review rounds one and two.

Building on the success of last year’s live broadcasts, Motors TV has renewed its agreement to cover the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship and is planning to show three of the events live, beginning with a four-hour feature from the season opener at Lydden on Easter Monday. The championship’s revolutionary Night Race at Blyton in June will also be screened live. “Broadcasting live Rallycross action from Lydden Hill last year was quite a gamble for both LHMC and ourselves, but it immediately proved successful and led to another event from Mallory Park. We’re thrilled at the idea of going live again in 2010 with even more rounds, and especially looking forward to the night race, which will definitely be a great show!” said Motors TV director Frederic Viger.

Further details of Channel 4 and Motors TV programmes and transmission times will be available in the coming weeks.

The live broadcast from the first round of the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship will take place between 1300 and 1700 on Monday April 5 with a highlights show at 2220.

The highlights show will be repeated on April 8 at 0135 and 1500, April 9 at 1100 and 1905 and April 10 at 0335.

Motors TV is available on Sky Digital channel 413, and Virgin Media channel 545.
