Andy Metcalf should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Chilton also seemed to go off in sympathy after Wheals and Fullalove. They all looked as though they were aiming at the TV Camera tower.

Something probably broke as a result of Tom trying for his pilots licence.

Looks like that car could be bent ?

I was standing right next to where Wheals and Fullalove came off but didn't actually see what happened. Fullalove's car was already stopped with the driver's door open when Chilton came barrelling into the gravel.

I remember seeing Jamie Spence in one off Vectra challenge drive, do a similar 'bucking bronco' at the exact same point, nearly went over as well.....

I'm no TC fan and rarely do I stick up for drivers, but, to be fair, Chilton was suffering badly from tonsilitis at the weekend and this, I'm told on good authority, influenced his crash out of race one - he was close to collapse in the car and apparently braked over 20 metres too late. He keeled over while attempting a doctor's test afterwards and this meant he was ruled out of race two.

Just so long as he wasn't doing a Mansell and making the most of it in good drama queen fashion ...

Tim Harvey said on Motors TV that Honda had asked if he might be interested in driving for them but obviously nothing came of this.

Poor old Tom's had a torrid year. Let's hope he's a tad more on the pace (and on the ground!) next season if he's still around.

i was standing on the hill over by knickerbrook looking over towards clearways, what happened was this fullalove tried to dive down the inside of wheals before the apex of the corner (i.e. quite early) wheals turned in on the back right quarter of fullaloves cars turning him sideways and off wheals then had no where to go and also went off. Chilton arrived a few seconds later obviously seeing the off and forgeting his braking point.

I like the fact that even though all four wheels are off the ground in the second picture he still has the brake lights on. Slow down damn you!!

the reason Tom went off was because he split the radiator in the bucking bronco manouver and as a result had all water over the tyres which caused him to go off.

TC's incident was also a bit reminiscent of Menus Sneterton 2000 crash with Muller and Radermecker! Although you only saw that from the inside!

Also similar to Jason Plato's hurdling down the same hill after clashing with Thompson in.....1999 IIRC

I've been off on the outside of Cascades too - very painful way to put a big hole in your sump. I did achieve an altitude of about 5 foot though
