New SuperLicense scoring
New system revealed. By my rough calculations on the back of my hand counting with both hands and both feet, still wouldn't have helped Matt Chahda...?
https://www.speedcafe.com/2017/11/13...ence-criteria/ 3 points for 2012 NSW FF 3 for 2014 Kumho Stuff all since... |

Although I suppose that's the difference between someone who's got a full season's budget to keep a car on the grid, and one that does not. Not suggesting Mr Rullo bought his way in, just simply that considerations are generally made when there's a long-term commitment. |

I don't believe Mr Chadha had the budget to do the full season.
My line of thinking is that Mr Rullo did, keeping in mind that Supercars has contractual obligations besides those that underpin the REC, to ensure cars are on the grid. Therefore, SC would have gone into bat for him seeing as though he was prepared to make a full-season commitment (disregarding how the season actually panned out...), and ensured he got a dispensation under whatever conditions CAMS threw at them. To do it for Mr Chadha as well, knowing that only a matter of months prior, he'd copped a rollicking from all and sundry, would've been a bit of a tall ask. |

I think more points should be awarded for stalwart categories like Australian Formula Ford.

FFord was deliberately given a low number of points in relation to something like....F4 for example, as an incentive to do the more expensive category that CAMS have bankrolled. |

It shows what has happened to FF, no longer the entry level category and thus not worthy of big points |

Ron Barnacle, 1984 Australian Formula Ford Champion. Age 34.
For interest's sake. |

But thats what it always has been, Formula Junior doing the same job before it. 'The only change between Ron Barnacle winning and Leanne Tander (quite deservingly) winning the title is that the powers in charge have a financial interest in a competing category. For the record, the smallest grid in this years national FFord series was 28 which is bigger than the largest F4 grid this year of 13. |

It is clear that Formula Ford is a vastly more popular category, and while some Mums (and some grey-haired gentleman and lady racers) may be racing, the vast majority of the faces driving their cars back from post-race scrutineering to the paddock are of the fresh-faced teenage variety, as they have traditionally been.

What they considered as a young up and comer in the 80's, was usualy a wild-haird bloke in his mid-late 20's.
