The base setup applied to #5 simply would not translate into any sort of remarkable lap time for #6 (nee #200).
The pace of the car wasn't great but it was abundantly clear that Cam's racecraft in company is sorely lacking. Even at Sandown he looked like he was going to bin it near his stint. I know you want to give the guy who wins the DVS a drive, but I suspect he may not be ready. Could be a repeat of Courtney, Dumbrell, even Reynolds himself, fast but wild and accident-prone.

Except for putting in the guy who you publicly shafted....

Or maybe they were worried that treating the Bottle-O entry with disdain by putting their driver into a Pepsi car, and a lesser driver in the 55 would upset their new best friends at Bottle-O who will be signing cheques in 2016?

Fair point but they could have just swapped the sponsors round so the Bottle-O car was the #6 & the Pepsi car #55

Plenty of other teams using multiple cars, multiple sponsors & multiple drivers throughout the year...

Except maybe the rules prohibit it. Recall there was a tightening up of this after TWR paired Tander with Skaife at HRT and Todd Kelly with Rick at HSVDT in 2006 to try and protect the latter team's 1-2 status in the championship.

T8's mid year slump remains unexplained.

Some (even Roland himself) appeared to blame Mr Cauchi when Dutto was put back on the cans.

However Cauchi MkII seemed to be right on the money......

Lots more happening here than just an engineer swap. Jamie's car has been a jet since.

Yep, I realise Dave's title changes were gone by the last round, but still I would have expected him to remain in Bottle-O colours and car.

Had PRA swapped numbers, drivers and sponsors across the cars to gain the team win it would have been disappointing.
If 888 or HRT did something like this, there would be lots of noise about it, including from me, so I'm not going to suggest PRA missed an opportunity.
It was decided fairly, like it should be.

Thanks for that, makes it more of a missed opportunity for PRA then.
