BTCC TESTING FOR thruxton will be 18/19/20 April if anyone fancies meeting up.

Thruxton is great for autograph and pit work photos nobody notices you, you can even walk on pit road during test sessions and nobody notices!!

and its free, but damn cold especially in april

I think we're sort of beginning to organise a trip to Silverstone for F1 testing on the 19th April, don't know what people have planned for the other days though.
I hope I'll be working at the time and so won't be able to make it down to Hampshire. But if not hmmm, Thruxton, that's near Winchester

I have only got 20th April down as testing. Didn't realise they were doing 3 days? Will probably be able to swing 20th April after F1 testing on 19th.

I'm up in Lancashire, but I spent my student days in Winchester, so I could be tempted to combine a visit to Thruxton with a visit to Winchester and Stockbridge

Are you sure all three days are BTCC, I've only got 20th listed. The other 2 are probably support race testing. Can't remember if I've booked the day off work already or not.

As a breakdown truck marshal my experiance at thruxton test days has been imense and one thing i have learnt is you never know what your gonna get until you get there honestly it is that supid one year btcc teams were there on the wednesday instead of friday and one year they tested 2 out of three days but hopefully with wonders of modern technology in 2001 they may keep to there form which is 18th lotus
19th renault
20th btcc

The nearest town with a station to Thruxton is Andover. It's only on one line, the Exeter St Davids to London Waterloo line. However, Salisbury Reading and others are on this line so you could catch a train to these and then change.

Thruxton is about 5 miles from Andover.

taxi is your only option from any train station, you could catch a train to salisbury or andover but you can only get there via a taxi no buses run that way you see, i would have offered to meet anyone who wants to go at salisbury train station but i have to work straight after the thruxton testday on friday so ill be extremely rushed!! - and wouldnt want anyone to endure that type of run home from thruxton it is 17 miles and takes around 25 minutes normally to salisbury, but ive narrowed it down to 16 minutes personal best but thank christ i didnt meet a copper!!

I'm on Race Rescue for all 3 days and live in Andover, so if anyone needs a lift from the station let me know. The only potential problem is that testing starts at 13:00 but I need to be there by 12:00. Finishes at 17:00 and I should be through then and able to give lifts back to the station.
