New surface on the back straight is ridiculous. Hopefully this highlights an obvious issue when it comes to regulating resurfacing.

Gee, considering SVG apologied to Frosty for holding him up in practice, should that incident be looked at by officials now?

Hence why basing the grid on championship positions is a better system

Not everyone is necessarily chasing laptimes in practice, and things like you mention above all of a sudden take on a bigger significance retroactively.

All the championship contenders are at the pointy-end of the grid now anyway.

It'll only take a kerfuffle on the first lap to juggle the running order.

Dirty by Whincup but not sure what SM was trying to achieve, it'll never work.

Love it, SC but a full lap of full speed racing ensues anyway.

So can we finally discuss the the redress rules? Ridiculous.

Decent amount of damage, likely roll cage damage as well.

Penalty does seem rich given he didn't break any rules with the redress (that I know of) eventhough it was stupid and the pushing of a car off isn't worth more than a slap on the wrist.

Gold Coast, penalties for similar or worse than the Chaz incident, 15 seconds or 25 point.

but in NZ its a pit lane (45 second 60 points) penalty

Intense racing, which is good to see.

Mostert's penalty should've been reviewed post-race.

I wish personally they'd get rid of the 15sec or whatever post race penalties. Where you finish on the track should be your finishing position (unless you fail a technical inspection post race)

It might sound harsh, but we got by for years fine with everything being a drive-through be it knocking someone off, speeding in the pits or jumping the start.

A standard penalty keeps it simple and easy to follow.

Which he has since apologised for, in the live video that was shared on their social media a little while ago. For a numbers man, he's incredibly knowledgeable of the sport and technical aspects. He's been a very vital asset to that team over the last several years.
