Race Car Wing Structure

Can someone describe the structure of a race car wing specifically how the wing structure is mounted to the supporting plates. I saw a picture of Tagliani's crashed Champcar and recall seeing two small pins protruding from the mounting plates extending into the where wing structure was. The wing being taken off by the crash.
Are there internal webs and/or thickening in the skin at the mounting points??
