Great stuff Damon, you wont regret it!

So whats everyone's favorite track? I would have to go for Texas, always a fast and furious place to race. Indianapolis is a great place too, I remember battling with Gil de Ferran for about 50 laps (out of a 50 lap race ) for the lead. I lost the race with just a few laps to go, after scuffing the wall trying to avoid Redon's spinning car...finished 2nd though.

im going for Richmond Because i've driven that track only with a W-Cup car and i cant wait for the spped difference.
then its off to indy to see how fast this game really is,im goig to trim the car out and add downforce as needed! will be fun.

How technical is the setup aspect of the game? I like to jump in and drive, perhaps just changing wings and gear ratio's. Can you get away with just doing that and still be competitive?

Well if you are on easy mode you dont really need to bother at all with set up. But if you are racing on Pro, the racing gets very close so going into detail with your set up can give you an extra edge.

I'm absolutely useless on the short ovals at the moment.....I can just about make the top ten on the grid at Phoenix but I can't finish without scuffing the wall....I love the superspeedways though, Michigan and California are great....

I'm pretty bad on the short ovals as well, apart from Richmond - In my season, I qualifed 18th but finished 1st cause I was really good getting through traffic. I also won my first full-length race today there...I was four laps ahead of the second placed driver! It's really the only short oval I'm good at though...

I just had the best race ever at Indy! It was in the Indy 500 mode, set to 10 laps on Normal...qualifed 6th, dropped to 9th at the start (I can never get away cleanly at Indy ) I fought my way up to second but touched wheels with de Ferran, got into a slide and saved it - but dropped down to fourth. The last lap starts, I'm back into second, 0.5 seconds behind Hornish...I'm slowly getting closer to him but not close enough...then I get a great run on him on the short chute in between 3 & 4 and pull alongside him just as we get to the finish line - I won by the tip of my nosecone. I spent the best part of an evening trying to win this race (I had several near misses)...I think this is my favorite simracing win

When you complete a race, you unlock the create a driver mode. It's not very detailed though - you name a driver, choose what sex they are, choose a helmet and pick a team. Also, when you win a race you unlock the "create a team" mode where you can choose a chassis and engine and a paintjob, most of which are hidden.

Down F0rce.....have you worked out how to pit under green without being black flagged at the end of the stop? This is really niggling me now, I make a pitstop, am careful to keep my speed down, it all goes well then I'm penilised as I exit the pitlane. It's not usually a prob as it's best to pit under yellow, but it's still annoying me. Must be speeding.....

Either way, a great game......won the title last night on normal, now I'm going for pro....I'd love to unlock Dario Franchitti as a "playable character" though...anyone know if that's possible?

Get your speed down to below 60MPH before you enter the pits, and you'll be fine.

just tried my first full-distance race, at Michigan. Was really enjoying watching the laps tick away while participating in a 10 car slipstreaming match just behind Cheever and Lazier, but I managed to crash into another car with 3 laps to go, triggering a massive shunt and knocking me and the rest of the firld out on the spot, hence I claimed a rather confusing win while crumpled in the pits. Funny, but it all felt a bit cheap after all that.

Has anyone tried the masterclass thing yet? I can't get anywhere near the time needed to pass the "maximising performance test". If any of you guys have managed it, a little help would be much appreciated.

Did you guys know this game has full on DTS 5.1 surround sound? It's absolutely fantastic as you can here exactly where everyone is around you.

I've made a discovery!

You guys may know this already, but once you've played the game for a while go back onto the "edit driver" screen and you have the option to drive for all the extra teams that compete at Indy plus Andretti/Green. There are some nice new liveries in there, it's quite a nice discovery....
