Ive just been having alook through the teams and was wondering about their model names for the 2001 season.
most are easy to work out but a few have puzzled me for quite some time. Arrows A22 (A= Arrows 22= number of cars made by arrows???) Benetton B201 (B= Bennetton 201 = 2001) Prost AP04 (AP= Alain Prost 04= 4th chassis ??) Williams FW23 (FW= Frank Williams 23 = 23rd chassis??) BAR 003 (003 = 3rd chassis) Ferrari F200 (F = Ferrari 2001 = 2001) Jordan EJ11 (EJ = Eddie Jordan 11 = 11th chassis?) Minardi PS01 (PS = Paul Stoddart 01 = 1st chassis) there are a few there that im not sure about but the number of chassis made sounds good to me. but these ones i have no idea about at all. McLaren MP416 I have always wondered what the MP4 stood for??? Jaguar R2 ..2 im guessing is the 2nd chassis ...but what is the R for ??? Sauber C20 Sauber have always used C as well ..but what is it for ...Car perhaps and 20 im guessing they have built 20 cars ..that includes their sportscars. anyone have any clues about these ones I dont know...not majorly important but it niggling the heck out of me..and ive drawn a blank of them. |

Hi Marcus.
We had a discussion to this end in the Tech Forum a while back. The thread is here: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...&threadid=6224 I think the only one here that we didn't discuss would have been the Jag 'R', which I assumed was simply 'Racing'. |

MP4 - Mclaren Project 4 (project 4 being the team that Ron Dennis ran in F2/F3 before his link up with the Mclaren team). I'm trying to rack my brain regarding th C with Sauber, I know I know but I can't remember.
As for R with Jaguar - who knows? |

All of Peter Sauber's creations have had a C designation in them, even back to when he was designing sportscars for Mercedes.
