The Island claimed a few more victims today in the first day of practice and qualifying. The notable ones were McCoy and Criville.

Anyway to keep this short...

500:
1. Barros
2. Roberts
3. Rossi
7. McWilliams
11. Criville
12. McCoy
14. Willis

Day 2 and Jeremy McWilliams grabs pole on the Aprilia. For a fair amount of the session he held a half second lead but in the final few minutes the rest of the field closed in but after the clock ran down, he still held a 0.259s lead over Alex Barros, Regis Laconi and Kenny Roberts. Garry McCoy is back in 6th.

In 250s, Nakano has pole and Jacque is 2nd which will make an interesting first corner with Katoh and Melandri completing the front row with Waldmann and Ukawa on row 2. West qualified in 15th.

Locatelli grabbed pole in the 125s from Ui, Scalvini and Cecchinello. Pogialli was 12th.
