New Catch Fencing @ Oulton

I've heard a rumour that new catch-fencing is being erected along the pit wall at oulton Park in time for the 2005 season.

Anyone have any more info?

I was worried, I thought they may have put it up all over the place... Oulton is a great track for photographs, due to the relative lack of catch fencing.

Apparently this is true about the catch fencing. Not a problem until there is an accident on the pit straight and no trackside marshals, I am going to teach the pit marshals how to pole vault over it, no, POLE VAULT I said.

I suspect fencing on the pit wall is sadly, probably a good idea. Jasons accident could have proved very serious indeed had he become airborne. As well as competing i have been on a number of pit wall this year both hear and in Europe, and this is certainly the trend.

At the start of the mono race this year at Oulton the entire nose section+ front wings of a FVL cleared the wall and landed in the pit lane!!!
