Oh no. I can't unsee that. That's horrendous.

Guess they got the bumpers painted by a a partially sighted paint sprayer in a very dark cave!

Or it could be they were destined for road cars and weren't needed so were given to the race team... let's face it, money was tight so it's close enough; especially when you think of the sheer amount of trims and panels their drivers wrecked last year!

I'm at work until after the launch has finished. I could ask my wife to have a look when she takes the dog for a walk, but she'd probably not be able to tell what car it was anyway!

Fair play to TPR. They don't do bad liveries.

If I'm honest I really don't like it, especially looking down on it... much prefered last year's. Might just be me being picky though!

Good luck to them though. Hopefully Jelley can do a lot better than last year.

It's the difference in the colour between the painted rear bumper and the stickered red on the chassis. Paint shop couldn't get a match.

It could be one of 2 things:

1) A spare bumper wrapped in the wrong colour red.

2) An optical anomaly caused by the way the light is reflected/absorbed differently by wrapped metal panels and wrapped grp (I've seen this sort of thing a few times on race cars).

Edit: Option 3) Looks like 2016 red was darker than 2017, maybe a reused old bumper?

The grid gets more competitive, yet again. Jelley is RWD is a different driver, expect him to come alive at Croft.

That BMW is lovely. I expect a big increase in competitiveness this year, especially with plenty of data from previous years.

Smart move using the older spec engine as well. Probably cheaper than the latest spec unit, and won't get hit with the same boost adjustments.

Looking at it again - it appears to match the red within the large MG logo by the rear arch.

I wonder if they have got confused over which shade of red to use?

The majority of the red looks to be 'MG Red', and the replacement bumper looks like 'Autumn Red'.

Like I said above, its the difference in the painted red and the red stickers. All bumpers used last year were the same painted red.

Except, the rear quarter of the wheel arch and the bumper are one panel, so, certainly to my eyes, the colour differences were intentional. Unless, of course, they ran out of either paint or wrap mid stream.

Is this seriously where we are at in silly season, looking at the wrap colour on last year's damage ridden MG?!

Absolutely it is! I can't wait to see some new liveries.

However, its a bit unfair to pick on 888 and their MGs last year. We know they hsd bigger issues than the tint of their wrap with those things, sadly.
