with the current way WP have got their game together anyone else will struggle to win a round, he probably would come close or would have won a championship had he not left that fold, no doubt Tasman will build but they won't be a WP power house they might win a round here and there and finish in the top 10 in the championship but thats about it, and thats comming from me Murph's my #1 driver.

and welcome to 10 tenths n.kuiper

I do believe he has some race wins in him and possibly round wins but feel he had his best shot a several years ago. I don’t think he will take home the championship.

mmciau should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As indicated earlier, he is not in the level of equipment to get a championship now.

And he is not the consistent driver that is needed to be up at the top.

Mind you when it all comes together he is a top performer but he falls away too easily.

And now-a-days, I don't think he can "set a car up' as well as a Tander a Lowndes and a Skaife.

I think the top drivers have a very astute and technically sound relationship with their respective engineers and it shows.

They roll the car out of the trailer, run a few laps with yesterday's rubber, do a bit of foxing for the early part of practice 1, then they get REAL serious about getting into the top 4 places for the serious part of the weekend.

Murphy doesn't do that anymore and therefore spend the weekend getting nowhere in the pack

a - what is the reason in the first place "he came from the back of the pack"

b - "ec he got to 11th i think from the back" - why didn't he go higher up the placings?

It just maybe that he now qualifies so poorly and because he has to continually spend racetime trying to come forward.

If he was a top 4 qualifier, then it stands to reason he will be amongst the better drivers and more likely to continue to finish up the front end!

It would be good to see him win one. I thought Skaife was dead and buried but he took a round last week and Ingall took a championship off Ambrose so I'm reluctant to say never. I don't think he's off the pace if things start to go his way (and he learns not to tell the stewards how to do their job) He wouldn't be a poster boy for V8 Supercars like the Skaife or Lowndes types.

The only chance I see of Murph ever taking a championship is if he gets into a competitive team or if success ballast becomes the primary method of parity control.

no questions about his ability as a driver but i think he could go a long way in regards to having some respect for others and learning some manners with other poeple within pitlane

Unfortunately, Spud went to the Holden Motorsport School of arrogance and learned off experts such as Skaife. I see little Dick has also passed this course with flying colours. Tander hasn't completed the course but is gaining good marks so far. Todd failed the course and may change schools at the end of the season. Toms doing a refresher course.
