Red_08 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Oulton Park 20th September query

Hi folks,

I've been out of action this year for a few reasons and am glad to say I'm making a comeback this Saturday if my instructions arrive (they should I'm sure).
Having not been as a Marshal, is there anything I should know as far as which gate to use for entry? Where do people park for sign on now? New protocols or rules to follow if things have changed.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing the orange army again.

Elliot.

Hi Elliot,
You didn't say what your duty was.
If Incident suggest you enter via main gate and park behind Chequers.
Sign for incident is in Chequers.

For flag or specialist enter via main gate or east gate, and park
on start/ finish straight. Sign on for flag and specialist is usually
ground floor of race control.

Regards
Gordon

Just like busses they arrived together - two sets for good measure - one for the 20th and one for the 27th

Check carefully - you should have one set of paperwork for both weekends, with tickets for both.

Thanks Dave. I did read it but I'm sure I had two tickets for this week only. I'll double check later.

How are people getting to post these days? Via the infield etc or still allowed on track to post if it's up the other end?

Just checked my paperwork for this Saturday. I only have this weeks tickets but I did volunteer on different days for this week and next week so that may be the reason for only getting one set.

Incidently I noticed that my letter states the 20th and 27th October. Now I am sure it is just an innocent mistake and should read September, but has anyone else spotted this. I only say to avoid anyone getting confused. Hope that helps.

Elliot

A great day's racing - close & clean, as we have come to expect from CSCC.

Somebody on my post commented: "this is the sort of meeting that reminds us why we marshal".

. . . & we get to do it all again (with different cars) on Saturday!

Well said Dave. I've always enjoyed CSCC meetings. We had a good day over at Cascades. A few visitors and good view of things.

At Druids, even with just 1 spin and 1 drive through the gravel, it was a very enjoyable day because of the quality of the racing.
Good number of entries for each of the races, good mix of classes and cars and great racing.
Some other clubs could learn some things from CSCC.

Let's hope for the same this coming weekend!

It was a great day's racing as usual and as already been said - this Saturday we do it all over again with a totally different array of cars (including the Super Saloons) "awesome"

Even grabbed a couple of 'orange heros'

Don't see a marshal for ages and then. . . .

Of course I meant to do that - to help with the training ;-)

Quick power nap over lunch!

One of the spectators commented on how great / helpful and happy the marshals were - I couldn't agree more

Gutted - I so wanted this shot to come out but a combination of bad light / wrong angle / reflection meant it didn't work - sorry guys

. . . and as the light faded and the day drew to a close the lone marshal contemplated the chilled malt awaiting his return home

THANK YOU all again, see you on Saturday

.DAVID.
