Isn't that the proviso for any new Supercars event these days, it must be government funded and run by Supercars Events?

No bias. Couldn't be less interested in who or why. Circumstances vary, cases will be looked at on merit.

I'll see what I can do about dancing girls, on the grounds I married one.

I suspect this may become quite a busy thread over the Phillip Island weekend...

Is the Supercars-endorsed one getting an outing there?

One assumes the FT5000 lap times will be the target?

There is no Supercars endorsed one.

Supercars pulled the pin on their involvement months ago

The idea was presented to the Supercars team owners during chief executive James Warburton's Vision 2025 address at the Townsville event last July, but was quickly rejected by the teams and the Supercars board of directors.

Given Supercars retain the IP, i'd say thats a sign they endorse it.

Similiarly if the car gets track time at any of their events (as was rumoured just before Clipsal), that would be another sign that they endorse the product.

But there was apparently no official plan to unveil the 21st century interpretation of an F5000 racer and Supercars has distanced itself from any involvement in the project.

"Everything else is people trying to stir trouble. It's as simple as that."

Im guessing that is what you are doing

Not really, Supercars were the ones stirring up trouble in the first place by proposing this when FT5000 had already been launched

What is the quote you are talking about in reference to, and who said it?

Can Jam3s perhaps expand on his post? It is all a guessing game at the moment.

Wasn't it rumored Josh Kean actually tested the thing not long ago? Pretty sure it was an Auto Action sourced story though so take that for what it's worth

Heh, Supercars would like to have everyone think they have distanced themselves and have no involvement. The whole project reeks of arrogance and ego's unfortunately but given who's involved it could succeed.
