Thanks for the link, the car looks good. But I wonder why the Hayden MacKenzie Motorsport stuff has disappeared. Isn't their current kit for sale?

the "new generation nzv8" decal on the windscreen is the only change. besides there wasn't much HMM stuff on the new car to start with

How much stuff isn't really the issue. I don't understand why one of the leading participants in this new-gen NZV8 no longer has a presence on the car, appears to have dropped out of the current championship, and I hear the gear's all for sale. Isn't that all a bit odd?

When Bargs tested it last week (or earlier this week . . .I cant remember anymore) it still has Haydn's name on the side and HMM on the boot. http://imgur.com/a/96V0Y Build a bridge. Last edited by Woolley; 2 Feb 2012 at 22:53. Reason: Please don't avoid the autocensor |

Your response indicates that you assume I'm against the new-gen car succeeding. That I'm **** stirring. Build a bridge - mate, I have nothing to get over.
Too many assumptions. I hope they end up with a really good car, and sell enough to have a cracking season. But that still doesn't stop me from wondering why things appear as they do, and asking why. PS I just checked your link and saw the name on the side. I missed that before. Last edited by Woolley; 2 Feb 2012 at 22:54. Reason: ditto |

I also wish this thread could be turned back into a NZV8 race scene gossip column, who is entered for the next round, who has brought who's car, who drove like a fool and who had a great weekend . . . . . Peace out. (Wooley . . . appologies for the autosensor thing, I felt bad for typing the word ****, and pooh and fudge didn't feel right. From now on I will just ****ing swear like a ****ing trooper god dammit. ) |

Nice pictures on that link, but once again, there is nothing to show any engine/gearbox developments. Which begs the question, has any of this 'new' gear actually been installed and tested?
You would think if it had been tested, and a success, they would be bleating on about it big time, with photos for africa showing the new engine (with fuel injection) and a proper seq box. And if Bargs did test the new gear then where is the youtube footage? I hate to point out the obvious here.....but what the heck is going on with the NZV8 next gen car? is it dead in the water? Seems that way to me anyway |

It would pay to remember that the NZV8 car is still a year away from racing.
I'd be more worried about those due to race in a week |

How do you reckon they'll go with parity between the General and Henry? I know they can chip them but it's also about the shape of the torque curve and how well the chassis puts the power down out of the bends, etc. etc.
I'd have to say the bigger capacity donks would have the advantage on our twisty tracks, except perhaps Puke as long as the Fords are allowed to rev higher. Comments anyone? I am purely surmising. |

ask the aussie ute boys
they're running the coyote engine this year and will have completed 7 out of 8 rounds of their championship before the next NZV8 season has even started. |

Aha, and those first three words say it all, really...
I think it's a pity they didn't do this 2 seasons ago, would have saved a lot of hassle for everyone. What is the ready to race cost of the MRX car, does anyone know yet? Not including tyres and assuming you already have access to a workshop... |

Will be interesting to see if that has gone up by next season. Still a lot cheaper than a V8 Supercar but not that much cheaper than a V8ST, and having supplied several cars they are fairly sure of the price.
My understanding of things is that the old NZV8's cost a lot of money to keep on the track as opposed to initial purchase price, I would expect the new car should not have quite the same issues? |

Anyway, formalities aside. Where do you get 3-4 months to screw these puppies together? |

.. or longer
the chassis started coming into the country back in August/September(?).. so far we've only seen a handful of completed cars... and that's only in the last couple of weeks. |
