Never heard of any Ford IndyCar rumours.

But it's sad because IndyCar really need a third manufacture. But there is no one on the horizont.

I heard about Nissan or Hyundai, but that's very, very unlikely.

Yeah it would be good to have another manufacturer in the championship, but I don't know where Ford has come from, even though it has a history in the championship

Yeah, it seems like Ford just wanted a mention on Daytona week to show off the GTs in any article they can. Only thing I've seen is comments on articles not actual reporters, articles are usually Toyota/Lexus or (insert FCA brand here). Often Alfa Romeo on their constant 'return to America PR tour, but then they are often the 'new' F1 engine du jour as well.

Marchionne says a lot.
Dodge return to NASCAR possible
Ferrari to Formula E possible
Alfa Romeo return to Formula 1 possible

But nothing of these will happen in the next 3-5 years. Perhaps Dodge to NASCAR, but that's all.

Alfa Romeo to IndyCar would be very intersting, but will not happen unfortunately.

Remember that the IMSA DPi class has manufacturers as engine and bodykit suppliers. It's not too far from IndyCar's proposal, and prototype bodykits resemble road cars more than formula cars.

J.R. Hildebrand, driving for ECR, topped the third session of the Phoenix open test, with a time of 19.0401s and an average speed of 193.234 mph, in Saturday's afternoon session, quicker than Helio Castroneves' 2016 Phoenix pole time.

A sad and quiet end to KV Racing. Had some great drivers race for the team since its inception (Da Matta, Vasser, Bourdais, Power, Kanaan to name a few) and for the team to fizzle out pre season is disappointing.

Kalkoven's interest level in the series and the team I guess has been in steady decline since 2006/7

Dixon and Ganassi lead the final pre-season test at Sebring. Looks like their switch back to Honda has benefited both team and manufacturer.

This is something that's bothered me about the series for years. I'm assuming that the reason is that they lack the technology to keep everyone to a delta through the section with the incident, so close the pits to make it pointless for everyone else to race around to the pits until they catch up with the safety car? But if they can limit speed in sections fairly cheaply then I don't really see why it isn't in place already.

Why is that?

In my opinion it makes races less artificial and rewards drivers over a race distance rather than a untimely wrecking ball safety car
