I enjoyed that. Tyre strategy instead of some cars not liking the tyres.
I was impressed by Lewis keeping his cool, unlike the younger Lewis who sometimes made stupid decisions. He did try to overtake Alonso on lap 64 (?) when all he had to do was wait for the DRS zone. Hamilton - a very deserved win. |

Hamilton - focussed, determined and bloomin' fast!
Honorary mentions for Grosjean and Perez. |

I went for Lewis. Controlled where he had to be controlled, fast where he had to be fast, overtook when he had to overtake. What more could you want?

Hamilton won because he was the best. Grosjean and Perez are on the podium because of the tactical mistakes of Vettel and Alonso. A great drive for them nevertheless.

A combination of Lewis for driving the wheels off the car and Mclaren for getting the tyre strategy spot on....good to see him back on the top step

My understanding is that it will depend on whether or not Scotland apply to FIA to have a recognised National Sporting Authority. Paul would also then have to race under a super-license issued by that NSA. Until then he gets the national anthem of the NSA that issued his super-license.

Lewis. Drove in a calm and mature manner. Did some good overtaking(albeit with DRS). Good tyre management from him and the team.
Honourable mentions to Grosjean and Peréz as well. I would say that Vettel and Alonso did a pretty decent job(okay, but they were on the wrong strategy - but Alonso is in 2nd place in the wDc and Vettel is not to far behind). |

Hamilton was the driver of the day for me. Dont get me wrong Grosjean amd Perez were did well to get on the podium, thanks to Ferraris ambitious tire strategy, but he was consitantly quick throughout the entire race. Its been a fantastic season though as we have now had 7 different winners in the first 7 races

Perez, 15th to 3rd, made the 1 stopper work.

Like everyone else, it would seem, I only felt the need to consider the podium trio.
Fat John is doing a fine job in only his second season (when he isn't crashing on the first lap) and he did an excellent job today. Fast, and he made his tyre strategy work. Speedy Gonzalez did his usual very fast tyre economy run. This guy is the real deal. But finally I gave it to Lewis because I feel I need a very strong reason to choose someone other than the winner. And that reason wasn't quite there. Lewis also made his tyre strategy work, and he covered the race distance in a shorter time than everyone else (which is the object of the exercise). |

It seems to me that the driver who wins is the one who tends to get the bulk of the votes on these polls, so obviously Lewis is dominating today's poll, but even had he not won I still felt it a great drive on his part, especially with two more botched stops. One might have been his fault, but the other definitely wasn't.
I was happy for Grosjean and Perez, and never expected the final part of the race to go the way it did. Kudos to both of these guys. |
