Snetterton Testing

The touring cars headed to Snetterton today for testing and at the end of the day Warren Hughes was fastest in Touring Class (and the fastest that one of the current Touring Cars has been round Snetterton) and Mark Fullalove lead the Production times. Egg Sport had Paul O'Neill there and he had been fastest early on in the session. Matt Neal wasn't there and once again, Triple Eight didn't test to conserve engines.
Carl Breeze also got a run in the Pug.

Carl may have been slowest but he was only 2tenths (bit less) of Eaves, who has been pretty impressive this year.

Tom Boardman busting a gut again I see. Any word on what his day entailed, bearing in mind he's a second and more off Norman Simon's time...?

Nice one Aaron Slight. Its only a matter of time until you win a race.

Vauxhall were wanting to conserve engines, and Matt, James and Yvan are fairly experienced at Snetterton unlike Paul O'Neill who was best to take the risk to learn the track.

I was going to pop down, as its just down the road from me. Were there TOCA officals on the main gate, stopping you getting in, or could any of you that went, leave your cars on the entrance road and walk into the circuit?

I went and no one was on the gate you could take your cars wherever and wander wherever as well, TOCA officals were about but didn't seem to be bothered about us walking around, very relaxed. A great way to chat to the drivers and take photos, shame there isn't more.

Testing is really good and easy to get into apart from Silverstone where the job's worth try their hardest to keep you out of the paddock.
As long as you don't get in the way it's completely open and relaxed.
One bit of advice - the cafes can close early so stock up with drinks if it's hot.

I was most impressed with Aarons time. That really is very very good, considering that he aint done all that much Touring Car driving really. I hope this means that the Barwell Astras will regain the performance that they had at Brands but lost at Oulton and didn't really show at Thruxton.
