Speed Demon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
e-Tracks: World motor racing circuits database

It's taken over two years work, but finally my new site is fully online at http://www.etracks.freeserve.co.uk/

I've spent ages scouring books and the net for information for the site, and far too much of my time re-drawing maps to the same standard.

So if you are looking for the latest news on circuits, or simply want to find a layout for the next track on the schedule, check it out.

I'll be adding more and more as time goes by (I know everyone says this, but I really mean it! It's taken too long to get this far and just stop...) but for now I have a pretty big selection of the major tracks, with every F1, CART, NASCAR, Moto GP, World Superbike and most of the ALMS venues included.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

Thanks for your kind words!

Judging by the response so far, people seem to find the site useful, which is good news after all the hard work. I'll have some updates by the end of the weekend.

err can I suggest a correction.

I dunno if you're an Aussie but, well I live about 2 minutes from the Adelaide circuit, which you call the Adelaide Parklands. I understood it was called the Adelaide Street Circuit. Of course this name originated with the F1 GP here, but it continued for the Clipsal 500 V8 race, and also the LeMans Adelaide 6hour event with the ALMS and ELMS cars in 2001.

Also the straight called Bartels Road is straighter, without the little squiggle as shown in your picture.

The Clipsal 500 will start in a few weeks, I'll check their souvenier map if you want.

Finally, its great to see the extra info about language, currency etc.
The change to the Euro will have made it easier I bet.

Erm, I too am suggesting some corrections, this time regarding the Irish circuits.

Firstly, The Phoenix Park. The Phoenix park is not exactly a racing circuit, it's a large enclosed natural park, wildlife and heritage area, which happens to host the finest motor racing event in the country on just one weekend of the year. This is why it's SO very difficut to get info on it from the Internet. The address you've used is for one of the organising clubs that takes part in the annual event - but it's not the location of The Phoenix Park. I would suggest that you go to www.motorsportireland.com to see can you get more information about this rather elusive event.

The circuit map on your website is of a very old circuit within The Phoenix Park, which hasn't been used in ages. The circuit which has been used over the last few years incorporates Mountjoy corner (as depicted in your map) as the last corner, the first corner being Dublin Corner, stretching down to the Furry Glen, (via the oft used chicane) back past Ordinance survey to Mountjoy and finishing on Chesterfield Avenue.

The most notable of all temporary circuits used in The Phoenix Park, however, is The Hawthorne circuit, not used in some considerable time, but we keep getting hints of a revival. I couldn't find a map of either of these two circuits on the net - but it would be nice if you could find (or build) one.

Secondly, Kirkistown. It's a pretty important circuit over here, and would make a nice addition to your site. I've included the following link to help you source info on it.
http://www.sourceni.fsnet.co.uk/kirkistown/

Lastly, I want to say that you've put together a really good site. There's loads of useful info in there and I can see the site being used quite a lot by travelling marshals, drivers and fans. Well done!

Thanks for the corrections and suggestions - keep them coming!

Firstly, Adelaide. Now I'm really unsure what to call it! It was originally called simply 'Adelaide' on the first release of the website, but after receiving emails from several Australians, I changed it to Adelaide Parklands as they swear this is correct. There's some support for this on the official V8Supercars website, which describes the Clipsal 500 as taking place "on a street circuit in the City of Adelaide parklands". Personally, I've always called it just Adelaide - which was how it was always referred to in the Formula 1 days. And I've yet to see a map without the kink on the back straight - so what's the definitive ruling? The official track map would certainly help...

Thanks wickedwitch for the Phoenix Park details. I've never seen any other map of the circuit, but I've long had my suspicions it was horribly out of date! Must look harder... Kirkistown is on my 'to do' list, which currently has about a million entries! But I'll bump it up nearer the top for you.

And no, the advent of the euro didn't make life easier - I started making the site a long time ago and had to go back and change all the currencies...

SD, I've got a couple of programmes from The Phoenix Park,(somewhere...) so I'll hunt for a more recent map and if I can find one I'll email it to the address on your site. BTW I really enjoyed browsing through your site.

Neat site One thing I always have trouble finding anywhere is elevations. Pretty important to me as I build tracks for racing simulations. Any info you could add regarding this would be great. Another plus would be to add the relevant link for an aerial or satelite photo.

You have standing this on your site "Belgium, butt of many a joke about its somewhat dowdy image amongst its European neighbours (how many famous Belgians can you name?)"

Well I can tell some famous Belgians: Jean Claude van Damme, Jacky Ickx, Thierry Boutsen, Helmut Lotti, Sergio & the ladies (Eurosong soon btw very good song the best ever), Guy Verhofstad, and many more I can tell. plaese dont insult the Belgium people.

Thank you much

From a Famous and proud Belgium.
