So which chassis is that one that Miedecke has purchased and where has it been?

Looking at this http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114111 I would think it is MM5???

You might have thought so. Not sure whether Dencar built the shell for one or two Sierras back in the day.

Interestingly, Mr Miedecke apparently also has the Martins Filters Mercedes Benz 190E AMG he ran at Bathurst in 1986 in his garage, also being restored!

Gone to god.

After its ATCC life it was purchased by Bob McDonald and raced by him and John Cotter. It became a be-winged sports sedan and was written off by McDonald at Oran Park in I believe the early 1990s. The parts were then dispersed among the Alfisti racers....

Thanks for that. I'm awaiting a back operation at the moment and have been housebound in pain for the last 5 and a half weeks so I've been watching old race videos and it got me wondering. it was a nice looking car and livery.

I saw that car competing in a State level Sports Sedan race at Amaroo in 1989. The livery had changed, and wings had been added, but the car was still quite recognisable.

Sorry to hear. Hope the operation sorts things out and makes life more enjoyable for you.

Good news re my bacdk, it's fine. I will take a few months off to make sure it's 100% before I give it a hard time again, but I should be back to normal soon.

It has Mick, that's why I've entered Muscle Car Masters. Feeling great and if I'm not, I'll simply park the car for the weekend.

Allan Moffat Garage Sale.

This would be worth a visit, even with no wallet.

Given he hasn't entered a car since 1996, what business has Mr Moffat done out of there since then out of curiosity?

According to the article. He's rented it out to a Porsche repairer since his last racing operation.

Congratulations David on a sterling performance-guess the back must have been ok OR the adrenaline/red mist took care of things.
A rather lonely drive in each event however it was good to see you whittle the times down plus keep a steady pace in the 25 minute feature race.
I guess you slept well Sunday night!!

A pity the event is getting a bit stale with little or no static displays to keep the public interested. The racing was good overall with some standout dices in various categories.

Mr Bergan was very fortunate to escape far more serious injury in his now convertible mini however to me it appeared he was in the wars a lot unlike his heroic battle with the Mustang a couple of years ago.

The back was fantastic, I feel like nothing had ever gone wrong. The new seat is terrific now that the harness holes are high enought o allow the shoulder straps to come through at the right height.
The final was a lonely race indeed, but that's what happens some time. I'm proud to have been the first non turbo car home in all my races, not bad for only 2300cc. I can't wait to see the surgeon next tuesday for the post op follow up consultation. When he's finished with me I'll ask him if I can go back to racing? He'll say yes and I'll ask did that apply to the weekend before last as I produce my trophy form the weekend.Rcae 3 video is here if anyone is interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgWkyd6pDo4
Cheers
David
