Caravan at Croft

Planning to come up (from Tewkesbury) to Croft for the BTCC on Friday.

Anyone know what/where the camping area is?

Got a rather large caravan to park up.

Anyone camped there before - sure someone has :-)

Ta,

Woody

The camping area is on the grass runway.Come to circuit entrance then turn right go past the large sheds on right you will see entrance to camping area.Plenty space for a large caravan.I had a motorhome 6 meters long and it was alright

Thanks

b**ger - something's come up at work which means I have to work on Sat. (I.T. - who'd do it for a living), which means I'm not going to be able to make it - which is a shame as I've been to all the BTCC rounds so far.

Have fun at Croft boyz and girls - be safe - and see you on the telly on Sunday.

.......and I will make Snetterton! :-)

First time in a tent for me (Fri and Sat nite) for about 15 years! Haven't even managed to put this new one up yet, so might need a hand or ten! I'll be easy to spot... I'll be in a heap on the floor!

I'm at Croft this Sunday on the spectators side of the fence. Having never been to Croft before I'm hearing stories of megga queue's getting in and out.

Do I need to get myself there at silly o'clock to make sure I'm not queueing for ever? and where are the best spectating spots?

Have a great time at the BBQ.

On Sunday I'd say if you get there for 9ish or a bit after you'll be straight into the carpark, no problems.. then you can go on the pitwalk etc. Getting out can be a bit of a mission, but a lot of people will go after the third BTCC race, just stick it out to the end, hang around a bit and you'll be out in minutes!

As for spectating, you can walk round most of the circuit, and it doesn't take too long. I always liked standing on the banking round the complex.

Ar they put one way systems in place on to the main roads and traffic control, i've never been stuck more than 15 mins there! Its better than most circuits i used to spectate at!!

Right Guys there is at least 75 people for the bbq!! It should be a good night!! If any of you are there on friday night, find the gazebos and bring a seat and some beer, we will be having the normal get together that we do at croft meets putting the world to rights!

Thanks xelallah (how on earth do you pronounce that? ) I was planning on getting there early so it sounds like we should be ok.

Just been looking at a couple of route planners and thought it best to ask the locals the best way into Croft from the A1

Google maps takes me off at Catterick and through a few villages, but Multimap takes me further up the A1 to Darlington and then back down into Croft.

Which one would be the better option based on local knowledge?

TIA

Easiest is the Darlington one. The fun drive is the Catterick one.

Been a few times to Croft as Marshal and gone in the Catterick way and down the lanes. Last year I did the BTCC as a spectator and they had closed off the sharp left hand turn that takes you onto the last stretch of road to the circuit, forcing me upto the main road and doubling back on myself!!!

Was that just for Speccy's, will Marshals still get in the normal way?

Half price marshals discount i think - so a bacon sarnie for £1.50! I'll be attempting to cook my own... food poisoning ftw!
