Are the AMG & Nissan engines using production heads? That is probably the difference if so.

Efforts so far suggest that Nissan should have been allowed to use E70 for this race.........but as usual the holden whingers prevailed in having it stopped.

Nissan Motorsport (Global) held a media briefing this morning. They've turned their focus to aerodynamics - they feel they're disadvantaged with the aero. According to Nissan, V8SC are reviewing their processes for aero homologation.

Yeah, still based on the production head.
Apparently they're looking to have a batch of heads cast at Nissan's North American foundry, specifically for their own purposes. |

What influence does anyone on a forum have to what happened?
He could have written a 5000 word thesis on the subject and it would not have changed a bloody thing. |

Did VESA use the chance they had whilst the cars where in America to put one of each make in a full size motorsport windtunnel ? Would have led to much better readings on current aero performance than testing on a runway.

It was a lost opportunity to verify their incredibly antiquated runway testing.....or otherwise. |

And all you armchair experts have expertise in aerodynamics from what university?

Neither of those, and it wasn't a Corn Flakes packet either.

Chuckling quietly in my armchair.
http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/10/21/...ercars-future/ "Initially blamed on engine performance, the issue is now being pinned on a high-drag aerodynamic package." "As well as amping up its own efforts, including better utilising the expertise of its Japanese performance arm, Nimso, Nissan is calling on V8 Supercars to increase the accuracy of its current open-air aero testing procedures." |

Well didn't they already design their aero in CFD before the coast down tests last time... Doesn't sound like the greatest plug for their sponsor autodesk
Sounds like their trying to save face and blame the coast down tests for their screw up in designing their aero to start with to me. Erebrus (without the might of the factory behind them) got the job done.. Last edited by Bell_End; 20 Oct 2013 at 23:30. |

Yeah, I recall the bragging about how they designed the aero in-house on the computer.
They also said around launch time, they had several different front splitters and rear wings to try out come testing time. I wonder if that was actually the case... |

Wish they'd get a room and sort it, instead of doing it thru the press

They have 4 cars in the stable, with one on each car, and a spare for each, that makes 'several'
