Speed GT 2009

Haven't heard much from the Speed GT front over the course of the off season. Anyone know who's in? who's out? etc.

Yea, and there seems to be very little news about 2009 entrants on it...

The ALMS has a website too, but you don't complain about the 65435 threads on those topics...

Missing the point completely, the answer to your question is on their website. The SWC website has a the season entry list of drivers for both classes if you want to know who is running there this year. Its only a couple of clicks away.

Speaking of Speed GT, they apparently dropped Lime Rock from the schedule this year. I was looking forward to seeing them along with Historic F1 and Koni Challenge, but at least those series will be there.

Lime Rock for New Jersey? Mmmm....

I'm thinking its not a fair trade.

I looked in the area for Sebring where they usually post entry lists and saw nothing. I didn't know they had a full list.

Well let this then be the Speed GT discussion thread.

And.... Go!

Sounds like there will be a big announcement about TV coverage upcoming shortly. Reads like there will be extended race coverage and possibly some more air-time than just the 1 hour program it has been. And probably bigger fields with the GT3 Cup car inclusion.

I live in the UK but when i have visited the US seen some coverage of the speed series, looks good and i like the cars.

As for having a post on the 2009 series why the hell not? If you dont like it dont read it dont give him a hard time and one word answers, a simple "its here on the website" would do. Discussion is always welcomed on tentenths just check out other threads for proof.

Is anyone producing any new cars for the series? an M3 would be competative id have thought?

IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a thread on the series.

Has nothing to do with being a 'mighty forum elder'.

The idea of a thread for Speed GT is good (kudos to you), but maybe a simple search for information on your own instead of having others do it for you would answer a lot of your questions beforehand. You're not in school anymore, so we don't have to write your papers anymore. Years ago, people would kill for access to all the information you have at your finger tips.

Now go find the answers and report back, and then we'll expand on them from there...

FLGTFAN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Two Volvos for Pobst and Pilgrim, those S60s are the toughest Volvos I've seen racing since the wagon in the BTCC days.

Exactly what I thought...tougher actually, but not as badass if you follow!

The addition of a Lambo is also great - too bad we don't have the RLR Aston still, or we'd have a decent chunk of a GT3 field.

Kinda sad I will be missing them this year because they're not on the Mosport ALMS date - and I think I will be in the Alps and Provence instead of Mosport this August. Poor me.
