TCR on Facebook
''We never comment on possible future cars, teams or drivers. As for the Alfa Romeo: each team will have secured an agreement with the manufacturer concerned to develop a TCR car, but each car is slightly different (Opel and SEAT are developed directly while others are developed by the teams with varying levels of support).''
So does this mean every car is more or less Manufacturer car?
On older articles i saw that Subaru & Alfa Romeo support Top Run and Romeo Ferraris with sending them new cars for free and then get some % from team that buy that car.

SEAT and (I think) Opel already had their Cup before the TCR's birth, in which Leóns and Astras ran. So these cars were already developed directly by the manufacturer, whilst Honda's project for example started from the scratch with Jas Motorsport's help.

On Wikipedia (not the best source, I know) I read that the Renault Megane is eligible for the TCR series, as well as the Peugeot 208 cup. I new something was on with Peogeot, but I didn't know about the Megane and I can't find much about it. Does anyone know anything about it.
Not too much confirmations now, with the series starting in 2 months. The Benelux series has more confirmed teams and drivers than the International Series does. Is it realistic to expect 25 or more cars on the grid this year? A touring car series does needs at least 20 cars for some spectacular racing, I think.

Talking of new brands entering the championship (although new might not be the right word), what about Audi? I don't know whether they actually have a car that fits the regulations or not - something like the S3 maybe? - but presumably they must have had some interest given the fact Engstler were running the TT in the early part of last year (although if I remember rightly that racing a German car was a sponsor-related condition of their entry).
Just a thought - I am new on here, so please don't rip my head off...

Audi could easily be entered, the gear from the Leon and the Golf could just as easy be transferred to an A3/S3. With VW and Seat already in the championship and Audi running their own TT-cup I don't see that happening though. TCR seems to become a bit more of a 'working class' TC-championship, rather than one for premium brands.

Opel Motorsport continues their development programme of the new TCR specification Astra with testing at Estoril, completing around 250 laps.
“It was a good test,” said Opel Motorsport Director Jörg Schrott.

Just as an aside, that guy must have the worst possible last name for anyone working in a car company, much less in the upper echelons. (Schrott meaning junk in German)

I think the Alfa takes the prize, but I still wish they were saloons instead of hatchbacks.
