I think he had a coming together with Richard Antinucci and someone else not sure though. The carlin guys did a good job of getting the car back together though had to replace 3 corners on the car

Courtney, race one. Overtook Kerr on inside into chicane but ran wide on turn-in. Kerr then switched to the inside and they ran the whole corner side-by-side.

Kerr clobbered inside kerbs on exit leading onto start-finish straight, while Courtney, now on his outside, came off the throttle and was slow down the straight. De Groot and Carbone both past him. De Groot then attacked Kerr through Allard, but Courtney went into the back of Carbone and both spun. Courtney was collected by Piccione and Mayall.

Carbone kept going in 14th and, if this is to be believed, was the reason for Antinucci's retirement. He pulled up alongside Richard behind the safety car and, just larking about, gave him the to&&er sign. Antinucci, looking across in amusement, didn't see the car in front of him until it was too late and smashed into the back of it!

Courtney

James lost position to de Groot and then to Carbone. He tried to challenge but tangled with de Groot and went off.
