No, there's actual time contrictions with the track itself.

Dunlop does provide geometry guidelines, they're just not enforced as a breach of rules if exceeded.

At what point does the teams' willful ignorance of Dunlop's recommended maximum camber settings breach a duty of care to drivers, officials and spectators?

While light and noise level cut-offs are sometimes a factor, the time certain finishes are to ensure broadcasters' can wrap up coverages without going into extra time, Bathurst being the exception.

Interesting to note how slow Whincup got going on the last restart - no really urgency whatsoever. Wouldn't have anything to do with Craig's 15 second penalty would it?

Also, as mentioned above I've seen images on Facebook showing nearly every driver breaching the pit entry rule. Very interesting to see how consistent they are going to be. Is everyone going to get pinged?

Finally, the tyre fiasco was an absolute abortion. Is safety of no concern? Not to mention the racing was crap, everyone seeing how slowly they could win. Does not bode well for today

SVG did it also, but I will add that it made no difference. Craig ended up behind the last driver on the lead lap

Surely 888 wouldn't be that dumb to transmit to Jamie to bank the field up?

Still didn't help him, Craig finished last of the lead lap finishers.

Podium finishers too? If teams protest and the evidence is there. They'll have no choice.

Apparently Prodrive raised the issue with race control early Saturday morning and requsted a cone be placed at the start of the line.

A note was sent by race control to the teams 90 minutes prior to the start about this penalty.

Agree with that.

If brought to their attention they need to investigate. But that investigation should have included all available footage of all cars entering the pit lane - not just the footage the TV director elects to show.

Another case of don't write rules if you don't have the resources to police them fairly.

Not disagreeing, but there is a short time from for this, about 30 mins after race end

Of note, turned out to be an 81 point penalty for lowndes, compared to the 6 he lost bumping waters wide . Is that a fair penalty?

As GTR eluded to in a previous post, they could just make their own lives a lot easier, and place a cone on the dotted line.

Neil Crompton, wearing his Supercars Commissioner hat, has confirmed on Fox there will be an increase in required starting tyre pressures (amount TBA), a recommendation on camber angles (but seemingly still at the discretion of teams) and a witches hat placed at the beginning of pit lane to split the fast and slow lines.

It might be considered willful negligence or some other term, if teams run the same settings as they did on Saturday.
Some of the race tyres - drag race tyres? come with an 'experimental' wording in small letters on them.

I would think the risk reduction approach would be for the Supercars/ Dunlop technical people to dictate maximum settings or other aspects in discussion with the teams and inspect to make sure it happens to reduce the possibility of a repeat of the Saturday's number of blowouts and potential accidents.

The Bathurst 6 hour was preferable to watch (than the saturday super car race)even with the long safety car times.
Testing of 2017 tyres rained out at 2016 test for Phillip Island.

Neil Crompton Talks Thru The Sunday Changes

- more tyre pressure
- less camber
- no additional tyres
- no mention of a practice session to try this out...

AND... a cone at the beginning of the broken white line!!!

Cone at pit entry is good - seem to recall that was done at PI for a number of years, wonder why they stopped?

Sensible approach to the tyres by the sound of it - going to the suppliers originally recommended settings should help. We'll see what today brings.

Well that was a 10+ car pileup in the Toyota 86s, just a massive nose-to-tail incident at the turn 4 hairpin.

Looked like the Triple Eight cars were quite aggressive on their front camber in qualy.

Gamesmanship, perhaps?

Interesting tekno (and i assume all kre) also run them power steering pump off the back of the oil pump. Terrible luck to get a rock or something in there.

Don't think this will strategy will hurt SM too badly given his ridiculous car pace, he'll make it back on the track.
