Will the new tire tweaks affect the championship?

After reading updates on the new tire tweaks, analysts predict Lotus and Ferrari will surge. Will the Mercs go back to their original form where their tyres will bee good for one lap? We saw glimpses of that during the last race. Will Redbull cope with changes and continue their dominance? Will there be a shuffle in the championship order? Sorry for all the questions.

I have to agree with the analysis and think Lotus will make a push. They are predicting extremely hot weather in Hungary which suits the Lotus. Last season the Lotus' were hampered by not so hot and wet races on several occassions. I am hoping the running order will be similar the German GP where the Redbulls will be challenged.

Hard to tell... Red Bull have still not dominated any track besides Canada this year, so if Ferrari, Lotus or others can extract everything from the tyres right away probably yes.
But in my opinion, we are now just 10 races away, and teams are starting to switch ressources to fully work on their 2014 cars after the summer break. So the question maybe could be, are the teams willing to make a run for it and compromise the development of next year's car ?

Vettel is driving incredibly well and unless RBR have some reability issues or the tyres give a good advantage to some other team I don't see anybody catching him.
The next few races will be very important, I think if after Monza nobody has closed the gap they'll probably stop working on their current cars. The new regs are so different that you can't risk starting this new era from behind, just look at RBR form from 2009 and the hard time other teams are having catching them since then.

Spritle has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Hamilton’s comments on the new for Germany Pirelli tyres after FP2: "We haven't noticed the differences," he said. "It feels the same as always at every weekend and we're just trying to fight the set-up at the moment".

Sebastian Vettel on the new for the rest of the season Pirelli tyres after the YDT: “The new tyres tested at Silverstone this week have not made much of a difference to the feeling of the car”.

Famous last words perhaps?
