Are they the dates of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone or croft or wherever it is this year?

The last round of the British Championship is at Silverstone on the Saturday afterwards (3rd November), I assume the GP is on that Sunday?

I think its a possibility (unless hosting a World round precludes the possibility of hosting the GRC). If Silverstone have poured money into building a rallycross track I'm sure they will be keen to get as much out of it as possible.

It seems unlikely, but I really hope its at Lydden. That could attract UK drivers and would hopefully see drivers coming from Europe as well.

There are a lot of circuits in mainland Europe capable of running the event though - plus the GRC has been known to construct temporary circuits - so there are a lot of possibilities at the moment.

As I ahve said before, Silverstone have not poured millions into a track.

It has been buily very cleverly. Using a tiny part of real estate that is not used for anything else.

Using the Stowe area was clever, it is only used for experience and minor testing, does no impact the main circuits and in theory you could have rallycross running at the same time as BTCC, WEC< F1 or MotoGP.

So if it fails, they dont lose out on anything other than the build costs, gras it over and no-one is the wiser.

The problem with Croft, Brands, even Lydden is that the main track is used in the rallycross track.

GRC will hopefully go to Lydden, makes far more sense and I doubt IMG would allow GRC to go to a WRX track, they are ******s like that

Put my money on Lydden Hill.
Still a strange move from GRC.

What about Doran doing GRC instead of WRX / ERX?

I would guess not, he is a Monster man and the GRC series is heavily weighted towards Red Bull.

I doubt he will do much driving beyond BRC, hopefully he has been asked not to go back!

A Continental Tyre rep is being interviewed on IMSA TV during the Rolex 24. They talked about Rallycross and he spilled the beans: it's Lydden Hill.

Or Silverstone, I may have misheard.

Just watching the live coverage of this years Daytona 24hr and they had the rep from Continental Tyres on and they were talking about Continental taking over the tyre contract for the GRC and he said the last round of this year will be at Silverstone! First time i've it heard it from a creditable source.

Was just going to post that myself

Hardly a susprise though is it

At least it means i might go there twice, for British round and GRC

Obviously will be boycotting the WRX shambles. Depends on GRC pricing really

If that's the case then I'm definitely tempted to go, providing that the view at Silverstone is decent (will be using the British round to gauge that) and that the ticket prices aren't ridiculous.

The Louisville race has been cancelled. The first round will be held at the Lancaster National Speedway in Buffalo on June 9-10.

There is always some sort of elevation in articles from GRC where they write how special, revolutionizing, incredible, good, evolving etc. GRC is. GRC seems to be over the top if one is to believe their articles.

Will be interesting though to see this car.

I assume Lydden did know this.

If they manage to get +20 cars it still could be fun....but doubt it will attract big crowd to visit the Lydden event.

I don't think they did: if they did then why would they have mentioned Supercars (and potential entries from UK/European Supercars) in the early press releases?

USRallycross should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So is this finally the end for GRC? It was too hard to run a super car here with all the stupid rules they put in place after the first couple of years. Not many could raise the funds for a $400k super car and then VW decided to pump real money into Andretti.

Knew something was up when I saw Austin Dyne’s MSport Fiesta for sale. I do wonder what happens to the cars here. Beyond Dyne’s I haven’t seen any posted anywhere.

Be interesting to see how long NBC give it the level for free to air that current do. Alll very sad for me. In two years before the first race when we bought the Rally America guys over to Lydden and then bringing Gronholm into the series. I thought we were onto something and could finally get it to work over here. Then new ownership, manufacture fees, effective ban on independents, parking lots and everything else.
