750MC Brands 10 Sept - volunteers needed

I guess a few will wonder what medication I am on as a few minutes after asking people to help at the Silverstone 24 hours, i am "pleading" for more volunteers for an event on the same weekend.

This was an event moved from Oulton because of other (F1) changes and was not on our availabity form, which means that numbers are still low (marshals that is - not cars).

If you haven't volunteered and can make it (it's a Saturday) please PM or email me.

You can always do Brands on Saturday and then go straight to Silverstone??

Go on, help out, you know you'll be made to feel very welcome, see good races with full grids, you have a great chance of winning a raffle prize & as one of the Clerks, you know I'll keep things running as quickly as possible.

I would soooo love to be there. Unfortunately I have a 60th birthday party to attend (not mine by a long way...).

But I strongly urge everyone to go if they can. 750 meetings NEVER disappoint.

I was just going straight off the 750MC calendar - I guess this changed when the meeting was switched from Oulton to Brands and hadn't been updated.

Probably a good thing, would have been too busy a meeting otherwise!

Peter, you know I'd do anything (within reason) to help you out but unfortunately on this occasion it's completely out of the question.

We've had to cancel the BARC meeting at Donington the same weekend because there is not a snowball in hell's chance of us coming back from France half way through a week's holiday

I was doing this meeting but have had to cancel. I will now be at Spa with a beer in my hand at Eau Rouge. It was a tough decission, still not sure I made the right one though. Nah I'm lying there, sorry Spa wins over Brands hands down.

I've had 6 cancellations in the last 2 days and numbers were already low.

I know we will survive but if there is anyone out there toying with the idea of coming -- WE NEED YOU.

I don't know if this is anything to do with it, but with Petrol going past £1 per Litre in many parts of the country, I think a lot more people will either stick to their local circuits or not bother at all !

It costs me an extra £40 per month in fuel just to go to work, and this is without going to Snett at the weekends. I will have to seriously consider which meetings I attend if this trend continues !!

Yes we certainly were although just after leaving the circuit heading back to the A2 it was dry and no sign of rain at all.

I almost had to swim home. The M20 was nearly flooded, 50mph max and even then it was hairy sometimes (good fun though). Same in France and Belgium. We were indeed very lucky at Brands.
The racing was very entertaining.
