John Cooper looks quite the mafioso there! "Just keeping an eye on business..."

Of course no. 20 was the last front-engined car to win a World Championship Grand Prix.

All of these photographs on these threads are fantastic. Incredible quality for such old transparancies (with the help of photoshop?) Thankyou so much, brilliant.

Wow,wow, wow. This is AMAZING! These pictures are like the motorsport equivalent of finding the Dead Sea Scrolls!

If there was an award for poster of the year, it would surely go to Cub and Navyflier .

My new morning routine: Coffee and straight on to the Historic Image Archive. Keep up the good work

Great stuff!! Many thanks, I think that's the only colour shot of the JBW in period I have ever seen. I presume the red stripe reflects the Maserati engine, certainly that resembles a Maserati badge on the front.

Wolfgang von Trips talks with Chitti after the Italian GP 1960. Note how Wolfgang von Trips' helmet and face are blackened from following so closely to Mairesse throughout the race. By "towing" him they managed to beat the Porsche, which was faster, for the F2 race.
