If you've got lots of time on your hands read this http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodgerestoration.htm

Must be the most comprehensive account of any restoration I've ever seen, fascinating!

Being a one-time trucker - sorry, lorry driver - I've tried for years to find a period transporter and only just missed an Austin 5-tonner on ebay a couple of years back, a single-seater team transporter hailing from 1959 which would have been perfect.

Has anyone seen the Streamliners that were featured in one of the Classic Mags a couple of years ago, I think it was a GM across America promotional car sales road show or something, they were extradinary vehicles and one was restored and sold for bundles at that American car auction seen on TV.

Yeah real nice, there is a coach company next door to my shop and up and till the last 4 or 5 years something like that would have been the best coach in their fleet!

That Futurliner is something else, even now.
The Ecurie Ecosse and Ferrari team transporters were at the Classic, in July.

Michiel Campagnes Mack of Tachyon was at Silverstone Classic as some of you have noticed. This great "Lorry" should be on the list as well !

I went to see the guys restoring this in Newcastle under Lyme. Its going to be amazing when its done - it will hopefully be reunited with Dennis Poore's Alfa at next years Revival. The lengths they are going to with it are amazing.

Hmm.

Truck, v6 tranny and Escort can all in one shot (but small though.)

Larger picture of the truck.

I have a colour shot of the truck from the Silverstone Classic 2005 somewhere. I'll find it and add it.

Ah, here we go.

Blimey hauling an E-Type on a two wheel trailer, that was a brave man! How times move on, I have 6 on mine.

Yep, but not an exciting one. Iirc it was a basic 1.3 in mostly undercoat grey having originally been that silver metallic colour that went matt and peeled off after a year or so.

I had a Mk1 Escort GT at the time in the blue tinted version of the metallic paint and that had done the same. To think that people pay money for a matt finish now ... back then Ford gave it away!

I guess that means the Ford almost invented wrapping! (Or unwrapping.)

VW camper in shot as well.

Plus the timber truck axle unit that probably gave Derek Gardner the idea for P34 ...
