Can't be far away

Sad that we again missed seeing the RB boys going toe to toe. Daniel did well again.

peterelise should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As a Dan Ric fan it has been paining me to see Max consistently looking quicker in qualifying. I did notice during the race yesterday something that suggests Dan may have reached a similar conclusion that Lauda reached against Prost, that he couldn't beat him in qualy so focussed on race set up. Did anyone else notice that the two Red Bulls were fastest in the speed trap during the race and Dan was 5km/h quicker than Max suggesting he was running with a bit less downforce on the weekend?

Of course the race results are cheering me up, even if you remove the impact of DNFs. Dan scoring an average of 14.4 points per race when he finishes. Max scoring 9.7 per race when he finishes. And even if you say Dan has profited by Max's retirements, picking up that one extra place can't explain a 5 point difference in average points scored

In the 4 races they have both finished they are 2 wins each although a bit more patience from Max yesterday and it should have been him finishing ahead

Max had a great first lap, shame he threw it away with that collision with Massa. He should have been more patient like Ricciardo was

It's obviously Max who's the better driver.
Ricciardo has only ever won on the occasions when Mercedes have screwed up - Max won outright against the best Mercedes could manage.

Rosberg should have won that race, but for not being allowed to pass his teammate.
Or Hamilton should have won that race, but for a fuel pressure issue.

So I still maintain that Mercedes handed that race to Ricciardo.

I still rate Daniel very highly and the fact that he's a naturally likeable chap doesn't hurt. But if you had to pick one of the two to win the WDC in the next three years, I suspect that most of us would have our wager on Max.

I think it will bean interesting contest, Max may out-qualify Ricciardo, but will get involved in more dumb contacts than Ricciardo.
I think that Max is going to experience some very hard and uncompromising racing from a lot of other drivers as payback for the sins he has committed against others. When Max is going for the title the likes of Hamilton are not just going to jump out of his way because they are looking after bigger interests.

Also look at the current points tally, yes Max has suffered unreliability, but also had a bunch of dumb wrecks.
