As car people, we all know this, but this is one great way to demonstrate the difference. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have Mikey at the wheel (and a broadband connection, elapsed time ~3m30 sec)

yeah, that video is great everyone here should watch that to see the difference in speed. the video is from about 1996. is that a 1996 ferrari? and the track is Imola?

Yes to both. It must've been filmed a bit later in the year, too, given the raised nose-cone. The dank weather also suggests later on.

When I was at Silverstone 1997, whilst I was in this big bleep-off Ferrari building thingy, they showed a film of that style. I am trying to think whether the one I saw was with the '97 car, or whether it was that same film.

Not an original idea, though. I saw the same sort of thing years ago with Marlboro and McLaren. Alan McNish was in the slowest car, I think John Watson in the medium speed one and Niki Lauda in the F1 car. He even had a cup of tea with the mechanics on the start line before setting off.

In the Ferrari clip, isn't that Eddie Irvine driving the GT car?

I seem to remember that McLaren one on the ITV pre-race show for the 1997 British GP....may be wrong.
