Have not seen that one before GTR. Wonder what that contract was worth. Old advertisments in magazines is worthy of a thread on its own.

Well first up I do recall seeing GTRMagic's avatar on the back cover of (probably) Wheels magazine way back when. Futuristic graphics and all :-)

Some of us are old enough to not only remember but to have actually spectated at Rallycross events at Calder Park so here's a Coca Cola advert using Rallycross footage from the early 70's at a guess.

Where's the mad one where a kid beat Brockie and DJ driving a giant Weet Bix around Sandown???

Goes without saying that at present a child driving a Weet Bix could still beat the DJR cars................

Interesting to see Peter Wherret in the last clip.
Victa was one of the early non motor industry sponsors in the sport with the funding of the "Victa Special" Cooper of David MacKay.
Anyone remember the rest of the words?

Hang down your head Sir Malcolm.
Hang down your head and cry,
You lost the Victa special
Hang down you head and die.

Came up on the Mountain,
Backed by Victa brass,
You lost the Victa Special,
Landed on your Ar?se.

etc. etc. Park Hotel Bathurst.
Tune Tom Dooley.
