CART Closing on Minimum numbers!

According to this article CART is close to having the 18 cars on the grid next year which it needs for the 2003 season. Its a good article for those of us who are new to CART like myself, for others it might just be telling u what u already know...http://www.crash.net/news_detail.asp...8&language_id=

Just thought it might help people put things into place more easily.

Good to see another positive article about CART's numbers instead of just the usual garbage about predicting its demise.

Usually we only see this sort of positive news on CART.com or ChampWeb!

I think Cart will have better than 18 on the grid. And over time these teams will hopefully be rewarded for taking the opportunity to come onboard. Let the new generation begin.

F1 Manoz, I dont know if u do already, but I personally recommend www.crash.net for all the news motorsport wise - i dont work for them lol. But they do have in my experince the storys out on the website before most of the other websites, if not all. If u want info on CART and other racing series - well any to be exact visit www.crash.net its probably the best all round motorsport website I know.

It dosent specalise in anything as such but its a great all rounder, a bit like Barichello in F1 lol. And yes I agree its good to see some positive things about CART rather than the usual trash that comes out of other sites ie aut0sport.com

Okay since we're almost at the minimum numbers, the question is what is the maximum number? Pook mentioned something about not wanting more than 25 (or something) because they'd need an extra plane for the overseas venues. In the past apparently they've gotten an extra plane for like 3 cars. Anyone know?

Everyone like a train wreck. That's probably why everyone is trying to write off CART.

SALEEN S7R, Thanks for the tip. I hadn't been to CRASH.NET before. I spent a little time looking around. Now I've got another sight to check into regularly.

I believe the limit is based on the number of pit boxes available at the smallest venue, which is the Milwaukee Mile. I'm trying to remember how many that is from the last time I was there, and I think it's 22 or 23. I remember a couple of cars had to go home after qualifying at the bottom of the grid in 2000.
