That's quite good news about eTracks indeed.

I used to read racingcircuits.net all the time, what else am I going to look at whilst eternally bored at work?

Please say there is a light at the end of the tunnel for this situation...?

eTracks, although good, especially for news, isn't as good as rc.net in terms of the number of tracks on the database, and the different layouts for each track, though that might come with time

The other big thing with rc.net was all the delineations you could search. You could browse by track type, country, or racing series, which was also great because you could see the history and progression (in statistical terms at least) of many major championships.

Google, Yahoo, etc. do cache old websites... in fact I think I should try that
Meantime, another page that nobody's mentioned is Darren Galpin's Tracks Around the World page--the first such page like this I'd ever found. Doesn't have the standardization of maps that eTracks, RacingCircuits.net, and Guido de Carli's page, relying almost exclusively on scans, but it's updated quite well--even has the Houston Champ Car layout.

Hadn't heard of etracks, racingcircuits.net was the one I always used...shame it's gone, but be interesting to see etracks in it's new design.

Tracks Around The World, no that good. all the ttracks seem to be a different type of drawing each time. so therefor are hard to edit.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, havent had time to read the thread yet. However, archive.org has a bunch of backups of the site

Here is the most recent

http://web.archive.org/web/200503210...gcircuits.net/

Most of the site *appears* to be intact
