The one above is £237. A bit steep for me but all the other ones I've seen take up too much room with the frames, except for the Speedseat which folds but would mean me sitting virtually on the floor. If there's an office chair that doubles as a race seat that would be perfect for my space problem and numb bum syndrome after doing a Full Bathurst sitting in a dining chair.

These swirly chairs cost around 125 quid at cheapest! Type 'Office Race Seats' in google, it doesnt tell you the website on the ad, but there is another american company that sells similar things, BTW, the email for sales is:
sales@templetfc.co.uk . |

Cheers Nicky saw the Recaro one but $1500 is way too pricey for me and I didn't like the look of it but I found the corbeau website and they do a stand that you can put a race seat on much cheaper. The Corbeau factory is 5 minutes down the road from me so I might go fort a look see.
Thanks |

Meh. Been there, done that. Put my old Corbeau Forza on a swivel base. Dead easy with a few bits of ally mount hanging around.

Very cool but why the harness LMAO. What did it cost you to make? I'm definately gonna pop down to Corbeau and see if they've got anything. I could do without it swiveling and rolling but I'm sure I could get some chair legs that don't move or have brakes and a clamp.

I too have to wonder why you would want it swivelling on wheels. Surely you want it securely mounted to a solid frame?

The harnesses were added as an afterthought - just to make it look the part really They too were removed from a car when the new rules made them redundant. They're 2 inch, and the regs these days demand 3 inch.
It cost nothing to make - I already had the parts - the seat and belts came out of the car, and I had a sorry looking leather swivel chair which I salvaged the base off. Yes, of course I could have made a solid base for it, but I actually wanted a swivel base, as I use it as a regular office chair. Quite comfy it is too Jonboy, there's quite a lot of non-FIA approved 'racing look' seats available these days. If you want to make a racing seat, then you'd be better going in that direction - Corbeau sell FIA approved stuff, which obviously costs a bit more. |
