A new tool for Marshals??

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10716414 : Fire-Bike - The video seems to show at least two-minutes worth of foam extinguisher carried in canisters on the side of the bike.

How long before we start to see these at a race circuit?

I don't think we will see it at a race track. It does exactly the same thing as the rescue units and fire tenders do but slightly worse, and besides that we are all around the track ready to respond to incidents quickly anyway.

Interesting

Couldn't really scramble a motorcycle onto a live circuit (cars), would be far to dangerous, may be useful for bike meetings though, maybe...

But for tin tops,
i think that's a safer way off putting out a fire in the engine compartment,
don't think the driver would be happy
lol

Could be fun watching it chase the race. They need a Safety Bike and a first responder medical bike as well.

This is firexpess

This company produce many variants of this system which would be more applicable to motorsport

http://www.firexpress.com/products/p...en-unit/video/

the system is a water AFFF mix only about 6% so very little damage takes about 12lts to put out a car fire in full blaze!! less than 2 bottles worth!!!

regards mark

When we went to the GP Masters event in 2006 the British Post Chiefs were given Honda scooters to patrol their sector (as they were rather long with multiple posts to cover). This system would have been easier than riding with a bottle wedged between your legs!
