Christmas present for a marshal

I was thinking about christmas shopping today...sigh...and was thinking a good present for a friend of mine would be something useful for marshalling (probably don't need to say we both spend a fair amount of time trackside).

Any suggestions for a marshalling based christmas present?

The only thing I could think of was a pork pie holder, but I can't find one of those anywhere...

How about a porta-potti for all those places there are no proper toilet facilities!

(Hopefully, there will be some improvement here in the New Year, following repeat mention as the leading complaint in The Marshal and representations at the ABMRC, etc.)

How about a copy of the excellent book "50 Years of Motorsport Marshalling"?

http://www.marshals.co.uk/national/b...easurer/17.htm

( Mr C was too modest too mention it!)

Thanks, Dave! You have exposed my modesty!!

The book has contributed some £4,000 so far to Marshals' Club funds - but there are still books available!

If your friend has a significant other, then I suggest that you get them a "Guilt free season pass"

They are a very rare commodity, and one which I know I will never get

The other option would be a book of brownie points to be used when needed to appease the significant other

I usually find the need after either being out for several weekends on the row or after meeting such as Gold cup when they are several days in a row

'bigears' request for more information re. the Birmingham Super Prix has reminded me to suggest on this thread that his book would make an excellent Xmas present.
If you were present at any of these events, then the book (with plenty of photos)will bring the memories flooding back along with all the politics that eventually destroyed the event. It is easy to order online from Amazon.
