Interesting rumour that a driver will be the next to announce his 2018 port of call this weekend. A return to a previous marque, with a sponsor considered to be one of life's great vices. Rumours are thick n fast at this time of the year, not willing to place my house on this one being 100% right.

Red Bull renews sponsorship deal with Triple Eight until end of 2019

Guess that explains SVG to 2019, matches the sponsor

I think it could be for stability, so it staggers when their drivers all come off contract. If Lowndes is up at the end of 2018, SVG 2019, and I'm guessing here, Whincup in 2020, it's a little easier to negotiate to keep them all?

I'd be aiming a little higher than the BTCC.

With several drivers supposedly making a return to Super2 specifically for Newcastle, he may struggle to find a chassis, and someone to run it. As it is, there could well be 5 or 6 cars of the past on the grid.
