WANTED!! 1982 touring car coverage
I'm looking for video of the 1982 Touring Cars. I'm preparing an E28 BMW for classic touring car racing. At the start of the 1983 ETCC video, the 528i and 1982 champion is shown. This footage had to come from somewhere.
Anybody? |

One assumes the footage came from a Hay Fisher 1982 ETCC review... but like alot of stuff from around that time (like BTCC reviews, BRC rallies etc) only some of the stuff produced is available these days..
With abit of luck someone might have it in their collection perhaps though

Yes indeed, I'vd been searching for early 80's stuff like Tricentrol BTCC and ETC for a long time.
It definitely exists, but probably on beta fornat in terms of commercial releases? Hay Fisher or BHP will have some in their archives but they are either unwilling to release/re-release any of it or simply prefer to keep it under lock and key. The now defunct 'SportsSeen' did release the 81 and 82 BTCC in the early to mid 80's on video. I also seem to recall an '82 ETC vid a long time ago as well. I have never come across any on ebay and no one on here has come forward offering copies if they have it in their private collections. We can only live in hope! |

Something that was just jogged in my memory. In the program 'Racing Through Time' there is an episode focusing on Jaguar, and their return to racing. It features alot of footage from the 1982 ETCC rounds at Donington & in particular their win in the TT. The footage used has the Hay Fisher feel to it (if that makes sense), so they at least had access to some of the footage.

I got some ETCC race footage when I was looking for info on the 1982 spec. Jags. I'll go into the loft and see what I can find...
